Grrr.... How did you steal my thread?

Yes, my argument is that despite the seat restrictions, we have to trade-off the current schedule for (1) DXB congestion and (2) lack of FZ frequency depth across these various Indian destinations.

Even if EK didn't easily takeover, FZ would be better off opening new monopoly routes that should be reasonable yield e.g. PNQ, GOI etc so the combined network is more robust.

Anyway am sure the EK bigwigs are looking closely :-)

I was told EK will boost ZAG high season with an additional three to five extra rotations. FlyDubai has already announced the launch of a Dubrovnik service this summer.

A local Mexican newspaper has published EK have permission to fly Dubai-Mexico City via Barcelona. Let's see if this long awaited route is realized.

Officially announced in Spain, daily flights with 5th freedom traffic rights.
Seems that they beat QR to it.

I heard at the airport yesterday that Glasgow is preparing for A380, apparently they are working on the runway at night and it'll all be ready by September

Why not nonstop ? It is 14500km just like the nonstop AKL route.

I'm sure EK could fill a non-stop daily, limited options to travel one-stop from MEX to a lot of Asia and Africa and the Middle East

Theres minimal traffic. Also now NE/SE Asia much better connected via Pacific with MEX with much faster routes and very attractive fares
And Europe/Spain very well connected too with MEX.
Even if the route materializes, I doubt it will be sustainable.

Portal de Turismo Internacional

An article in Panama states the president saying EK could start a Dubai-Panama City service in the second half of 2018 with a possible Bogota tag on.
