Online checkin offer

Hey guys, just a question:

If they are offering an upgrade during OLCI Y-J does it mean the flight is over in Y?

The flight is cuurently J7 C7 I7 O7 P6 Y4 E4 R4 W4 M4 B4 U4 K4 Q4
EK 333 10NOV

Also it shows as 2-class 77W but seat map reflects 3-Class 77W

Thanks

EF shows 2 class seat map (fault warning for F).
Y4 would suggest Y is quite heavily booked. But they are still prepared to sell 4 seats.

I don’t think anyone here quite like understands what triggers the OLCI upgrade offers and who receives them.

Agreed. Just noticed whenever there has been P class availability, I've always got an offer to upgrade.

EK is showing 3 -class ... since Y section starts at row 17 and counted there were 304 seats

It means they have a J seat they don't think they'll sell and reckon they can get some extra revenue

As others say, the answer is - maybe. I had the offer on a flight for tomorrow, but it's a very light load so that's a spare seat in business, rather than oversold in economy.

Paid for the upgrade now it says there are no seats to select. Complete checkin at airport.

Why would this be the case?

But I'm wondering what they will do with the F cabin since the flight is operating as 2-class. Its confirmed its a 3-Class ULH frame.

Guess there are two options:

1) keep F empty
2) use it as additional J (with J service), if sufficient crew available

Flight was oversold. 6 People bought the online upgrade offer. 2 Op-ups. Both were w/o any status. And they kept the F cabin empty.
