I suppose its a trade off of either getting the 10 percent off or getting 4x spend on the MBNA card..

If you have Mbna card you can use the Amex and get both the discount with the 4x points?!

Previous post suggest MBNA AMEX doesnt work for the offer? I'm going to be booking a flight MAN - SYD so ill see if it works.
