Notably, the new F cabin is fully enclosed from floor to ceiling, has a reduction from 8 seats to 6 total, had virtual windows for the center cabins and features video-based room service ordering.

Flew the new F followed by the older F. Absolutely loved the it and would definitely go out of my way again to fly it over the older version. Felt the seat area was much more spacious and more private. Only thing I disliked was the temp control didn't have a number reading on there and it took ages to play around with to get to a nice 20c.

99% will not be the new First. The new first has not operated any ULR route AFAIK unless you count HND. The new first is mostly dedicated to rotations that can be operated with single airframe. BOS does usually see the 777-300ER with the new J product though.

As mentioned in another thread, if you look at the seat map you can see, if F is 1-1-1 then it is new. However only a handful of aircraft have new F (fewer than 6 I think) and they only fly to Europe and Japan right now, so the default assumption should always be that you'll get old F

One thing I've never been able to figure out - does anyone know why the bed moves sideways towards the window/console at the very last stage of recline?
There's plenty of room between the seat and the doors even when it's a bed so I don't think that's the reason. It makes no sense to me as it just eats into the bed area for seemingly no reason.

Of course this changes when the new generation 777's start being delivered but as far as I can remember that will only be in the second half of 2020. No idea how these will be configured.

As far as I am aware EK is not going to upgrade older 77W's to new F. And as there are no more 77W's to be delivered, there will most likely be no other routes to get new F (unless any of the current routes are relegated to old F).

So essentially they ran this whole big “game-changer” campaign on the basis of 6 aircraft, while more than 90% of the fleet don’t have the product and it’s unknown if they’ll ever refit other aircraft. Wow. Marketing taken to a new low...

I mean we've known this since they announced the product. I am a little forgiving because I think many if not most airlines advertise their best/flagship products alot even when it may exist on just a small subfleet.
