Yes, probably. Though the current F is not bad at all. And then you'll obviously also have pax that would have preferred bling over binoculars...

With EK's current ~145 777 in service it doesn't make any sense spending that kind of money for a marginal increase in passenger amenities. It will not generate any additional revenue, if any.

EK makes a big fanfare about it because it is part of their marketing strategy. They have no intention to retrofit the entire fleet, though they must update the product to keep up with the competition. As long as a small percentage of the fleet has the new F class, they are able to use this as a marketing tool for themselves.
I don't disagree with you, just making a point. As Jeremy Clarkson says in their new ad campaign:

"Every now and then the game changes. You are introduced to something so luxurious and so special that afterwards everything else is a disappointment".

From their own marketing, their current F product is a disappointment compared to the new F. EK are going to have a lot of disappointed customers for a considerable period of time!

Is EK getting money from Mercedes Benz for all of the airtime they are giving them? Maybe MB will help fund the retrofit

I was wondering how that relationship works. Perhaps EK providing free S-classes?

Also interesting given the recent change to BMWs in DXB - they must've known by then about the Mercedes collaboration for F. Typical EK ruthlessly pitting comoetitors against each other, like the 787 deal. Airbus must be so heartbroken

Also the new J class quilted seats are much more similar to the S class seats than the ones in the new F.

Does EK also provide binoculars in the two middle suites with the "fake" windows? Would be pretty useless there...

Great Video. Thank you.

After watching I wonder why they dint make the F seat wider so you could roll around while sleeping. There seems to be lots of space wasted at the sides.

Apart from that it looks fantastic.
