Emirates fires a shot at UA

I kind of like what EK's marketing team have been doing lately in response to anti-ME3 sentiment. The first was a very swift (mere hours) commercial praising ICE in response to the electronics ban:

Now they've just released a video citing their recent Tripadvisor awards (not that I put much stock in such awards) and making fun of United's "Fly the friendly skies" slogan in light of the now very well publicised removal of a UA passenger.

I'm kind of loving this cheeky adverstising! I think I saw that RJ tweeted something in reference to the incident as well.

I really like their cheeky edgy tone - makes me chuckle.

That's 2 great responses to current events lately.

Normally I'm not a fan of putting down another company in an ad, but I really do think it is a case of 'getting what they deserve' when it comes to the US3 - as they were excessively public in the ME3 challenges.

^^^

UA deserved every bit of flak headed their way.

Hilarious! Add to that the $1,000,000,000 dip in UA stock in two days.

Ouch.

While it was down $1 billion at one stage before yesterday's trading, it closed the day down 1.1% (down $255 million) on the previous close.

On Monday, it was ahead for most of the day, but ended pretty much where it started - the stock price barely moved.

(I don't dare stick my head into the UA forum but this is too good not to share.)

Bloomberg via SMH
"Another Twitter commentator said he actually received [a post-flight survey from United], which asked, "According to you, why do we consider ourselves the best airline to fly with?"

His answer: "beats me."

The thread on this incident on the UA forum has had something like 4k replies in 3 days. I tried digging for gold over there but there's just too much to get through. There's a thread on what miles redemption costs UA the most as a way to get back at them

Those videos are really good.
But it can't come from the company.
IMHO, a global respectable company should not criticize or make fun of other companies.

I'd normally agree with you, but the US3 are itching for a fight, and have been really vocal with their whining.
