Precheck

It was just announced that Emirates is now participating in precheck, but I don't see anywhere online to enter the information.

Anyone had success adding it yet?

Emirates202 Jan 27, 2017 2:17 pm

Flying JFK-DXB tonight, read about EK getting precheck yesterday so I tried to add my KTN in my skywards profile (No luck) and then in MMB (no luck), and then I thought I would try online checkin, and low and behold there was a place to enter it there. So I guess OLCI is the only place you can add it for now.
Lets hope it works!

Give IT a day or two

Figures that this happens just after my trip... SFO Concourse A security is atrocious around EK226's departure, usually 1 hr and priority is useless/worse. One less hour drinking Veuve!

Here are a couple links:

Nothing more than saying Emirates and ten other airlines are now part of pre-check. Always nice to make more use of Global Entry although the times I've been in and out of IAD both immigration and security have almost been ghost towns.

I didn't have a spot to add KTN, only redress number. I guess I'll ask at the Airport.

Thats odd, maybe they're updating the website to include it in MMB or in skywards profile. Skywards profile would be best so it'll be saved for all reservations.

Any reports of success with a called-in KTN?

aradisc Feb 9, 2017 12:39 pm

I called to add mine and they told me that they needed the issue date (not expiry) for my KTN. I had to look up the date on the approval letter on the GOES website.

I'll report back if it worked...

Any luck yet?

I am traveling in two weeks and dreading security at LAX TBIT without pre. If I don't get pre I might go to T4 and use the airside connector back...

Also, if OLCI is the place to put it I'm screwed because I have "special needs" (aka cpap machine in flight) so I can't ever use it.

#firstworldproblems but not having to do the surrender pose, especially these days, is really important to me :)

I called and the agent said they were not able to add any KTN info. Seems like a sloppy role-out at the least

I fly out on Friday from LAX. Hoping someone gets some good news by then, but i'll report back with my experience - good or bad - on Friday.

When OLCI opened, I was successful in entering my KTN, sort of. I am travelling in a party of 4. When I went to OLCI, it asked me which passengers I wanted to check in. I selected all 4. It gave me the chance to enter in KTN for one passenger, and then my only other option was "continue". I hit continue, and before I knew it, I was checked in for all 4 passengers, with only 1 of 4 KTN entered. I called Emirates, and the agent I spoke with was super helpful. She didn't understand exactly how it worked, but "undid" my OLCI so I could try again. This time, I checked in one passenger at a time, and for each passenger I was given the chance to add KTN. I won't know if successful yet, as I was told I need to go to counter to pick up boarding passes. Will keep everyone posted, but secret seems to be to wait until OLCI opens, and then check in one passenger at a time. Good luck!

From experience with other TSA Pre approved airlines, if your KTN doesn't stick (as happens on roughly half my AA flights), or you can't get your airline to add it (as is the case with my JFK-MXP flight in April), then it can almost always be resolved at a check-in desk - however they usually ask for the card, which non-US citizens don't have, so make sure you have a copy of your KTN handy.

So you're saying best to bring our Global Entry card with us? I can't use OLCI due to "special needs" so I'm always blocked so this is good to hear.

Will report back in a couple weeks.
