A380 shower spa

Dear Forum

Following my poor experience travelling with BA in F (BA First - Very Disappointing) I have booked some subsequent flights with Emirates on the A380 in F.

What is the general consensus regarding the shower spa?

Sincerely
TE

You will no doubt get varied opinions but herewith my own thoughts, for what worth ....

- a high quality facility overall, very spacious & well-designed
- a welcome benefit on ULH flights (eg MEL-DXB, 14+ hours)
- for short or mid haul sectors, more of a novelty factor really

Would just add - given your reference to BA - that it's perhaps just as well BA don't offer onboard showers : I would be very sceptical as to their ability to actually keep them clean, amidst their declining standards where attention to detail is concerned. My own experience of the EK showers is that they are maintained to immaculate standards throughout the flight and credit for that must go to the conscientious shower attendants (two on each flight, assuming still the case).

Not sure that there is any justification for Emirates to use the word 'spa', as they do in their promo material, but that apart, it's worth a try so definitely give it a go, I say. Don't think you'll be disappointed - especially if you're fresh from BA !

I would say it can be very welcome on short/mid haul sectors as well, depending on where and when your overall travel started.

subject2load and ft101; thank you for sharing your thoughts, this is much appreciated.

DYKWIA; from my last experience with BA in F, I am well rehearsed in loosing valuable drinking time! http://cdn.flyertalk.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

I really like the shower - good range of toiletries and love the heated floor.

If you haven't tried EK F at all - I think you'll be very impressed with the significant step up from BA F across the board - never mind the shower and bar on the A380, EK's F product on the 777 is significantly better than BA in my experience.

Enjoy! (thinking I need to book a holiday....)

I prefer the 380 but the 777 is also great - wish it was the 380 to Tokyo next month

Yes
CSA (customer services assistant) job is to maintain the shower clean after every use, but not after use of the toilet only.
If they have spare time, they also maintain the J loos aft.

Shower on board is quite an experience.
It is extremely convenient if you have to go to meetings after a red-eye flight.
Furthermore, even if you don't shower, it is convenient to change clothes in a clean and roomy environment. IMO, that's the main plus compared to B77 FCL.

I totally agree - it sounds like a complete gimmick when you read about it, but once you've tried it, you realise how useful it is!

The shower is great - Manchester dubai - needed before landing.

Sometimes I can t be bothered but it's still great to have as an option.
