Silver Travelling with GF

Hi,
When travelling with GF i usually fly Star Alliance but this time had a great deal with Emirates so i've booked with them.
I just realized that as silver i don't have companion access to the lounge in dubai. It's possible to enter both paying a fee for her or i will have to go to priority pass lounge to be together?

There've been rumours recently that EK is going to introduce paid-for access to their own lounges in DXB but to my knowledge this has not yet been confirmed or announced by EK so we don't know as of when this will be available. Pricing is also rumoured to be quite steep.

Couldn't you politely ask someone else to guest prior to entering the lounge or try the lounge meet-up thread for a more legitimate setup.

It's possible directly at the J lounge in DXB for ~ 100 USD

Yep. 100USD (x2) is too much and does not worth the price... will end in the priority pass lounge wich is not bad anyway.

Has it been officially announced or is this an unofficial way of bribing the lounge dragon ?

Unlikely at DXB but quite common in other parts of the world ( not on EK AFAIK)

Given the density of lounge dragons at EK's DXB lounges I highly doubt it'd be a bribe.

You could probably get the both of you into the Marhaba lounge for less than USD 100. It has a random international buffet, but no champers.

As a Silver member you get to pay for your guest only and no, it is not a bribe. Payment is by credit card.

When flying with EK, several colleagues use Priority Pass. I have started doing the same. Plus, it is also good when on some LCC or non-OW or non-*A carrier too

Depending on the flavor of your PP membership, lounge admission could cost about $27 each for you and GF.
