I just checked my three flights ex-Europe until end of February (booked last year). They are still all on weight concept.
Is this new from 01-Jan ? Is it only for some specific destinations ?
Last year, HND was still on weight concept when we took it.

A dummy booking using the full web site shows 50kg (plus status allowance) for DXB (or MAN)-HND return in First. Suggests an issue with the app to me.

If two people are travelling together, are they particular with weight? e.g. if one traveller had was 1 kg over and the other was 1 kg under, would they be fine with that?

Checked or cabin? For checked in most places they're fine with 1kg over even if you're alone. If you're together you can always reshuffle between suitcases. 1kg can be disappeared quite quick.

Ok. Thanks. I'm flying with Emirates for the first time in October. I'm just finding out how particular they are with luggage.

How soon before my flight can I drop off my luggage? I'll be flying on EK421, which is from PER to DXB. I'll be flying into Perth on a non-connecting flight which arrives late afternoon. My EK flight is in J, so I was hoping that I'd be able to check in my luggage and wait in the lounge, sooner rather than later.

Question:

Travelling EK FRA - xDXB - KUL, then onwards KUL - PNH on MH. 2 separate tickets (1x EK, 1x MH).

Is it possible to interline my bags all the way FRA - PNH? Anyone done this before, successfully?

Thanks!

Problem solved by the Twitter team ( great service by the way).

Interline is possible, even if on two different tickets, between EK and MH.

It is always possible due to the existence of the agreement.

However, if on two separate tickets, it will be up to EK at FRA whether they want to tag it all the way to PNH: that will be at their discretion as they would only be required to if it was all on one ticket.

As always, ask nicely, they are doing you a favor!

EK Baggage Question

Hi Everyone,

I have a situation where i am flying with Emirates but on 2 separate tickets.
First flight is an award flight from IAD to DXB. Then a separate cash ticket from DXB to SKT. Will i be able to check my baggage thru to SKT?

Thanks.

The folks at the EK board would know the answer better than us.
