It flies the fanciest product on the biggest planes on the longest routes. There might not be much more room to soar

Already shared by NOIR here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/emira...dates-123.html

I found the 2.2 tonnes of water for the showers interesting.

Where is that thread "How comes Ek has such high reputation"?
Let's say spontaneous, ehm, marketing.

Very good article. Thanks for sharing. Did anyone see the other Bloomberg article about EK's wine facility and buying strategy in France? Really interesting.

Did not see that but I've read it now. Thanks for pointing it out.

The wine one is much more of a puff piece than the other article, for instance:

- "So the airline made the decision to partner with MMI" - neglects to mention that MMI is a wholly owned subsidiary of EK
- "Wines are not served out of a bottle but instead decanted into a personal carafe" - I think I can say I have literally never seen that
- no mention of the partnership between EK and LVMH

I've never seen a carafe either - 100% bottle poured.

they also need to open the wines earlier to let the breathe more as it's not until glass 2/3 that they open up.

Didn't know EK owned MMI. Is it owned by ICD?

The FAs have poured red into a (small) carafe on my last 4 flights, it's a nice touch. I think on perhaps 2 of those flights I'd asked for a tasting of several reds before deciding on one so that might have had a baring.

This must be a very new thing, I did four 4 segments in Dec and none had this.

I suppose it depends on the wine. Some benefit from being decanted, some don't.

I got a decanter on the AMS-DXB leg. But not on the other 2 F legs.
