I think they both fly to BKK currently. Any idea what might happen there?

It's just no comparison - EK flies multiple A388, FZ flies a 737!

For all intents and purposes, separate markets, imho.

I was wondering if they add seven flights to LHR by operating A380. This route is always full for every day. They always has been successful routes.

How would they get slots?

I think QF has 4 pairs, uses only 2 and the other 2 are leased by BA. Maybe when the QF/BA lease ends?

New direct to DKR? Tried DXB-DKR in the routemap to see an upcoming route starting this month.

Enter "EK Basic Economy" after they "optimize" the 737 away...

If it's full, I'd expect the 737 to be making more money per pax than EK's economy 380 cabin

FZ medium haul has a totally different target market to EK - it is, to be blunt, a migrant worker shuttle bus, if there is overlap with EK/network carrier routes.

Yeah, you're right, on a cost basis the 737 is way more profitable. The EK India flights are regional feeders to the more profitable long haul services, just flown with 77W/A380's instead of RJ's I just looked however and the fares HYD-DXB were USD 300 R/T and FZ was more expensive??

HYD-DXB is a migrant worker market, but it's extraordinary the load factors they achieve in Y on these routes. I fly DXB-HYD or reverse around 20 times a year and it's always packed, There's rarely more than 3 or 4 open seats in Y. I suspect about 70-80% are connecting pax, but there is also definitely a healthy amount of migrant workers onboard (not all going to DXB alone though, also other ME destinations). The lack of English knowledge or general travel knowledge is scary, I'm often afraid for those people to be alone in a foreign country, because I worry they wouldn't cope, often have had to show someone how to buckle a seat belt even after the safety video, or help translate meal requests for cabin crew (who ask vegetarian or fish when what the pax expects to hear is "veg or non-veg").
