Yep, confirmed on a daily basis!

http://www.routesonline.com/news/38/...rom-july-2017/

This had been planned for a long time and the airport has worked on building the appropriate gate - crucially, this will mean that EK will move from T1 to T2 where said bilevel gate has been built. This will enable easy transfers for those using Skyteam or EasyJet flights and will physically separate EK from their QR rivals who open NCE-DOH a few days later!

Terrible.. I was planning flights on EK217/8 for 24 Feb on the A380 service and then it got down-gauged and I very quickly dropped that plan (as I travel in J). Sorry that you got caught.

I am not tracking all this in detail but it feels like there's a lot of capacity reduction going on all round. Question is whether this is specific to EK or general softening of the market overall. Hmmm...

It's mainly a reduction during Ramadan from what I can see. This happens every year - but maybe there are a few more reductions this year?

DYKWIA, you may believe it's purely down to Ramadan, but the reality is there is significant over capacity on many of the 380 routes including MAN and this is a tactical measure. Behind the scenes as I've said previously thanks to direct inside information, EK are desperately short of flightcrew, so much so that they are moving Airbus pilots onto the 777.
Now I realise a few on here have belittled my posts as agenda or hysteria driven or worse, but believe or not, from a purely manpower and capacity perspective EK is in deep deep trouble...expect more capacity reductions and route consolidation.

I've just read all 25 of your previous posts - and I don't see any evidence of this.... could you point to some evidence?

All your posts seem to be cross posting what is being posted on pprune, which you refer to as your "inside source".

Also - I didn't say that it's purely down to Ramadan (those were your words). I said the reductions were mainly during Ramadan, when loads are generally lighter.

Has anyone figured out the net balance of airframes, i.e. are they parking any frames or going into maintenance?
