In my experience, they hand it on night flights. On other LH/ULH flights, they have it whenever you request it. Same goes with the amenity kit. I've never had a "sorry, we didn't load it" or "sorry, we are out of stock".

I got them on a recent "day" flight DXB-IAH, as this was my first, first I don't have anything to compare them to, but thought the top was very comfortable. I know some have asked for pictures- here they are, also here is the women's amenity kit (sorry most of the contents remained at home with my mom).

With the recent decision to withdraw shower availability (on the shortest intra-Gulf sectors), there's every likelihood that further cutbacks will follow. A simple one would be to scrap amenity kits, PJ's etc - including the current 'on request' arrangement - for short sectors.
I'm no fan of enhancements, but that would make sense really.

Although our friend aceboy (a recent defect (again) to QR, I believe) would not be impressed.
Seem to remember he once booked an F sector with EK purely to get an amenity kit ......?

That's true !
Alternatively ..... in the case of those no longer available (I still have some Pan Am and British Caledonian in a box somewhere in the garage), I believe they are now considered collector's items ..... often offered to eager buyers on a well-known auction website ......
