This whole sorry episode as related by the OP (thanks for the story !) makes a good case for certain individuals being potentially placed on a 'lounge ban' list, in the same way that pax can be banned from flying.

The inebriated trouble-maker should have at least been a) warned that any subsequent trouble would result in police being notified and b) prevented from having access to further alcoholic drink. Sounds like neither of these things happened.

As I walked past him as I was leaving the lounge, I could only shake my head in disbelief.

Forgot to say, one of the funniest comments throughout the whole episode from Mr Whisky was that the man he was sitting next to before all this started was his boss........ Hope there was an interview without coffee when he went back to work.

Safe & Happy Travels

You should have tweeted @MelSabharwal - she wouldn't have stood for this nonsense and would have taken care of it!

If he'd done this on the aircraft, he'd have been removed by some friendly men in fatigues. Happened once JFK-DXB... after Bubba (literally, big guy from the Southern US wearing a trucker's cap) put the plastic handcuffs on and bound him into a seat with seat belt extensions.

He earned this special "enhanced" seating in the way-back of the plane through being cut off by the F/As and dipping into his duty-free bottles, and subsequently getting up in the face of the F/As after they told him to stop.
