Emirates app

Is anyone else having trouble with the app or is it just a glitch on my iPad? It just won't load. I've tried deleted & reinstalling it, but no luck. I realise this is a technical rather than a travel question but thought it might just be Emirates updating the app or something

pomkiwi Sep 27, 2016 12:37 am

It's working for me on i-phone and i-pad.

Flaneurs Sep 27, 2016 1:32 am

App is working for me also. Suggest you close all other apps, hard restart and try again. Good Luck!

Have had this same problem several times on iPod touch. App upgrade fixed the problem (when available). I don't think there's something you can do but wait. Maybe device reboot?

Katykat Sep 27, 2016 12:18 pm

I'll reboot later. The app is working on my iPhone, but the iPad app is more user friendly.

Is it just me or has the live boarding pass feature been removed from the mobile app?

Kölner Jan 7, 2017 11:47 am

There is still no Emirates App for Windows 10 (Mobile and PC). What a shame.

Lol... I don't think there will be anytime soon, given the cost cutting and presumably marginal user base.

There's the full and mobile websites. Forgive my ignorance, but what else would an app give?

Well the app saves your login and is much quicker to access your bookings/trips than the websites.

I never tick "Remember Me" boxes, and I'm never in that much of a hurry, so if that's all then it seems fine to me if they forget about it.

Six months ago Windows 10 had already over 350 Million active user. I don't think it's a "marginal user base".
A Windows 10 App could be much faster than using the website and also could give Extras like a Live-Title in the Start-Menu and Support for Cortana.

I was referring to Windows Mobile re small user base. Many use Win10 but I guarantee you few use actual native apps and even fewer use or even know what Cortana is.

It'd be nice but in the current cost cutting environment and given all the other systems to maintain I just can't see it being given any priority.

Doesn't it also double up as your boarding pass ?

Yes, on routes where mobile BPs are available (they sometimes aren't, due to legal/document requirements)

ft101 Nov 19, 2017 5:27 am

A Windows mobile app is now available, but it's an unofficial one and appears (first view and only for a few seconds) just to take you to the mobile web site. Has anyone tried it and does it do anything worthwhile?

If it's unofficial it's likely just a web view container that loads the mobi site, they won't have access to any EK APIs to build actual native functionality. Microsoft is shifting away from Windows Mobile itself so doubt there'd be any active dev on Windows apps still

I got my first Android phone the other week so downloaded the app, but I've never been able to get it to work. All I get is "Sorry, we have a technical problem at the moment. Please try again later. Pull up to dismiss"

I've cleared cache and data, rebooted, and uninstalled and re-installed all to no effect. Phone is running Android 6.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Why'd you get such an old phone? Latest version of Android is 8.

I'm assuming you get the error during logging in? There was a period a month or two ago where I got kicked out and couldn't log in for several days, but it's been working fine ever since (and worked fine before that). Try updating your Google Play Services and check for an operating system update if you can get to Android 7 at least.

I was overseas when my phone packed in and just wanted something to tide me over. This one cost the equivalent of only £45 GBP, or $62 USD, so I didn't mind if it was going to be thrown away when I got home, but I've sort of decided to stick with it for a bit. The error comes when logging in or even trying to skip the login.

Play Services is up to date and I can't see a way to upgrade the OS. Where would I typically look as I can't see anything under "Settings".

Ah I'm familiar with that (see forum brunch thread for my Vietnam story), settings > near the bottom should be system updates, before about phone. I use a non-stock android so might be slightly different.

Having problems with the watch and iPad app. Anyone else?

the watch doesn’t show notifications (on iPhone they show up fine) and the iPad just feels outdated and buggy at times. Last time the iPad app was updated was 2mothd ago.

The new revised app I noticed is working much better than before update, however it's annoyingly sometimes failing. Out of desperation I now first use other websites to look for schedule/availibilty/fares (on.EK) then go to the EK app in the hope it's working to reserve. This is of course not ideal. I notice no airline app is perfect however if EK put more effort into their app including by looking how others operate, then the EK app would be a lot better.

iPad app hits retirement

sydtogla Jun 20, 2018 6:01 pm

I deleted mine when it went tech a few weeks ago and then noticed it was no longer on the App Store. Quite annoying imo, especially because now wine lists are only available on the desktop site.

Create an ice playlist before your next flight

Create an ice playlist before your next flight

Customers can browse over 4,000 channels of entertainment on the Emirates app, create personalised playlists and sync selection to seat once on board

Press release: https://www.emirates.com/media-centr...head-of-travel

(can we now have an iPad app, please?)

i do miss the iPad app, I thought it was good. Hopefully a new one isn’t far away.

Finally!!!

Creating a playlist had been possible for quite some time - but one could never sync it with ICE on board.

Good news!

Meals now added in todays iOS update.

Shame they’ve completely lost it on the iPad front.

Mobile app on iOS has been given a slight redesign today and a 3D view of your seat (because thats what we were all desperately waiting for  )

What id like to see:
- which carousel my bags will be arriving at
- a quick and easy chat system with a priority skywards team member (silver, gold, plats)
- live connections board for which gate my onward flight is connecting from
- a complaints / compliments section with the ability to take pictures and upload directly within the app minus the need for giving all the information on the form including your dogs name
- how busy are the lounges in Dubai so one can plan which one to go to (i must be the only one who would travel from A to C if need be!
- iPad app

perhaps wishful thinking on my part

Had no idea iOS didn't have that. 3D has been available on Android for ages (possibly over a year).

You can see your onward gate from the mobile BP but I can highly recommend the Dubai Airports app as well for that purpose

new update out on iOS

Would be nice if they could do screen mirrror like you can do on TK flights, all be it I could not get it to work on iOS.

Something I would love the app to do, tell you check in desks at the airport your departing from so LHR T3, zone 4 etc and actually progeress as you check in.

So it says check in online, once done, now get to the airport and get baggage drop, EK knows you have checked in, it now says go to the lounge and before gate opens, it pings gets ready gets are opening. When your at gate and scanned through, its now enjoy your flight and welcome onboard
