Expired Skyward Card

Hi,

My Skyward membership card expired and the Dubai Immigration told me that Emirates should have sent a new one sometime before it expired. Obviously, I never received one. Does anyone know how can I obtain a new (replacement) card?

Thanks.

Out of interest, why did immigration care about your skywards card expiry?

I apologize for not being clear. The immigration officer was making that comment once he figured out that the E-gate Card on my card expired. He was like "People usually came in to register the new/replacement card, received from Emirates, before the old one (E-gate card) expires. Did you not get a new card from Emirates?"

Thanks for the suggestion. Can you be more specific? I could not find a button that says "lost card" after I logged in. Thanks.

I'm sure there used to be a link. Couldn't find it either now. EK says call them.

Ah yes - the egate card on the card has a different expiry to the card (2 years from when you first activated it).

However if you registered for egate you will automatically be enrolled in smart gate so you can still use the entry smart gates by scanning your passport page (but it will ask you to look at the camera, not for finger prints) until you pop by DNRD.

Side note - has anyone managed to activate a card at T3 arrivals in the last couple of months (every time it's "computer down" or no one there) or do I have to not visit in the evening?

But my passport only allows for E-Gate and not Smart Gate. Thus, I cannot use my passport at those gates.

They have the same eligibility criteria (UAE citizen or residence visa holder, GCC national, visa on arrival countries) - next time you are at arrivals, try scanning your passport :)

Oh, let me try it next time. However, I believe the list of smart gate eligible passport is different from the list of visa on arrival countries. Thanks for your suggestion.

The Smart Gate is only available to a shorter list of countries. My passport allows visa on arrival but could not use the Smart Gate. I tried, the machine did not work and was directed to the manual immigration line last time.

My apologies, you are correct - I mistakenly thought they had expanded the eligibility of smart gate to all e-gate users!

The passports that can't use smart gate but can be registered for e-gate seem to be:

Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Vatican City

unless you have a residence visa.

Edited my post to reflect.
