I suppose it depends on whether they are single or not.

I remember talking to a BA captain in hotel lounge a few years ago (in Houston). He was saying he loved the long flights, as he only had to do 2 a month to get his hours in!

In my experience with flight deck crew, being single or not has no bearing on their behaviour ;)

That's what I was saying. 3 or 4 SFO/LAX flights a month gets the EK pilots to 90-100 hours with around 9 days away from home

Sorry to bump an older thread, but in searching the EK forum I couldn't find anything more recent. I'm considering pulling the trigger on CHC-SYD in F as I don't know when I'll ever be able to fly EK F at a similar price, but had a few questions:

1). The posts from 2016 in this thread seem to indicate that complimentary limo service is not offered to F passengers on this route. Is that still correct?

2). Do they offer the shower during the flight?

3). Do F passengers still get the same amenity kits other EK F passengers get on other routes?

Really appreciate any info. Thanks in advance to all who can share any details!

From https://www.emirates.com/au/english/...auffeur-drive/

Itineraries which are exclusively between New Zealand and Australia are not eligible for Chauffeur-drive. All other itineraries on Emirates-operated flights are eligible, including Business Class itineraries which involve a stopover in Australia.

Thanks!

Now hope to find answers to:

2). Do they offer the shower during the flight?

3). Do F passengers still get the same amenity kits other EK F passengers get on other routes?

Thanks in advance to all who can share any details!

There are showers in the Mania lounge at CHC. :)
Wheels up - wheels down is ~3:00 so more time to enjoy the first class seat & meal

Last time I flew the sector in F, there were no amenity kits handed out (I suspect they’re not actually loaded for such a short flight) ; and I don’t recall anyone actually taking a shower.

Yes it is only 3:00.....But isn't the meal abbreviated, including no caviar service?

I've showered on HKG-BKK which is a similar duration, it should be possible if you ask, they might not be as proactive in offering it

It is possible to have a shower on the trans tasman flight if desired

My recollection is that there are no fish eggs on the menu

Google "emirates in flight menu"
Then CHC SYD

2). I've had a shower on a Trans Tasman sector (AKL - SYD).

3). I was given a bag with Amenity Kit and pyjamas.

As i recon from a SYD-CHC F A380 almost one year ago, at same time that crew swap happen while i was at SYD EK lounge, the ground staff cleaners really done a proper job since when back on board A/C, no blankets nor pillows in F - maybe it was a mistake but we had to get Blankets/pillows from J since no fresh neither used ones were made available..At same time No amenity kits, neither pyjamas were offered on this second segment SYD-CHC (not that i needed one due long segment before from DXB).. No one has taken shower on take segment - i didnt asked since enjoyed my shower on earlier leg DXB-SYD...

My journey was a multi cities with a 4 days stop over in SYD on the return and yes chauffeur is available for bookings as has been stated above.
