Question on gold status

Can I bring a guest into an Emirates lounge even if they aren't flying Emirates? I am flying business class if that matters.

officially she/he have to be on the same flight as you but if I recall correctly some here had luck and it worked

Which lounge at which outstation?

You are extremely unlikely to have any luck - even if you are flying EK you need to be on the same flight!

As a Gold member you can enjoy double the benefits with your travelling companion. A friend or family member checked in on your Emirates flight can join you in eligible lounges across the Emirates network, even if your companion is flying in Economy Class.

As a Platinum member, you can invite one guest accompanying you on the same Emirates flight to the First Class Lounge at Dubai International airport and eligible Business Class Lounges on our network, regardless of class of travel.

Please read the FAQ on lounge access for more information.

The lounge access benefit is available only when travelling onwards on an Emirates flight. Passengers flying on Emirates Staff tickets are not eligible to access the lounge as a guest.

I note they finally added no staff ticket guests to the website :D

It's very unusual for non EK pax to be allowed access to the lounges.

I've always wondered if IO's get access to the EK lounge even when not flying EK?

EK lounges at some stations - during some periods - are crowded enough already.

The very idea of pax being allowed 'guests' travelling with non-EK carriers is quite scary .......

Yes they do if they arrange it.

Always allowed (with guests sometimes even if not notified in advance) - in fact the handbook is "no rules apply" :D

In general, EK will always know if an iO is present in a station (yes...even if they are on other carriers ;) ) and will have sent a uniformed staff member to escort them to/from their incoming flight, to the lounge and to the next flight/through customs if permitted by local laws, when there is some kind of EK involvement (e.g. connection where one sector is on EK/QF flight number)

Singapore's Emirates lounge will only allow you to guest in someone if he/she is flying on the same flight as you are.

Meaning even if you are both flying Emirates metal, but not on the same flight. It's still a no-no.
