Using miles for football hospitality
 

Hi all

I am looking in to the option of using my accrued miles to get tickets to the Emirates box at either Paris St Germain or AC Milan.

On the face of it, it looks good value at 12000-20000 points. I just wondered whether anyone had burnt miles in this way before and whether they could advise what the experience was like.

The Emirates site is completely devoid of any information at all as to what is included, so I would welcome any insight.

PS: found the above link on Google. Seems like a decent use of miles for someone whose miles are expiring soon and with no plans to fly .

I will be at the Emirates in a few weeks time for the Leicester game, so will report back then. On the face of it, especially for the lower tier games it looks superb value, but getting availability it a different matter. It looks to me like they release 2 tickets in the box for each game, not sure about the normal seats,, which dont seem such good value. I nabbed mine at 5am UK time so im not sure when they get released, and they seem to get released in either 2 or 3 tranches per year.

I used some points to send my wife and son (big Arsenal fans) to an Arsenal game.

The rules say that I am supposed to be there to (at least) collect the tickets, but they had no problems either collecting the tickets nor watching the game.

They were happy with the seats I'd chosen for them. The only challenge they had was working out precisely from where the tickets should be collected.

lol, I wonder if they had the same minor problem I had trying to collect tickets at Emirates arranged through the local supporters club. I was told to get them from the box office next door to the Armoury, when there is a dedicated collection booth on the concourse above the Armoury, soon figured it out. Now that I have seen this thread, wondering wether instead of blindly crediting to QF I should credit any excess once I've requalified each year to EK...
