Great deal on Emirates!

I've just managed to book a return LHR-DXB flight for under 350GBP with Emirates on very convenient dates and at very convenient times.

I got an email from Emirates last week about cheap tickets, with the deals expiring today. I don't usually pay too much attention as when I go to check the actual prices for the dates and times that I want to fly, I find that they are much more expensive.

However, on this occasion I got pretty much the price in the email - the entire return trip cost what the taxes on BA would have been, with the added bonus of flying aboard the A380.

To say I am chuffed to bits is an understatement!

Interesting I've found the flights on my usual route (GLA-CMB) have been so much cheaper than previously. I'm not sure if its the competition from Edinburgh (QR & EI) but seems extremely cheap recently [~475].

I know they have Featured Fares all the time, but in the current lot I've noticed Economy Special Fares ex GLA, and I've never seen those before since these fare types were introduced.

I've mentioned this before, but around 6-7 years ago, the cheapest MAN-DXB was around 750. When I first starting regularly flying EK in around 2004, the price was 450.

QR are dragging EK & EY down to their level. How long can it continue?

On the other hand, J class flights have gone from around 1600 to 2400 over the last 3 or 4 years.

Yah - but that's the first J sale for ages. Maybe there will be more.

Europe to Asia: 2000 EUR in J... pretty good deal but not really a sale. Seems more their standard rates nowadays. I guess due to heavy competition from QR offering similar prices.

We got MAN-DXB-SGN for 1850 a couple of weeks ago. Great deal! It was 1800 just to DXB for the same dates.
