EK18 yesterday

No garlic bread :(

They ran out of Veuve with about 3 hours to go! :td: I would have been annoyed if I was in J.

I've been on a few flights recently where we got to the last bottle of DP (yesterday there was plenty) but it seems to be happening more and more - its one of two things - we are drinking more or EK are stocking the bare minimum for cost reasons.

Anyone else experience a drink shortage on any flights recently?

Oh and as a side note there were 14 plats and 26 golds! :o

Well m3red, as mentioned before .... maybe time for you to try some alternative options .... have a look at what the competition is up to, and spread some of that hefty travel budget of yours around a little ....? ( even if it ends up bringing you promptly back to EK !)

Have never personally experienced any 'drink shortages' onboard. But then I don't get through that much tbh - and I'm pretty sure there would always be something from the bar stocks to keep me happy for the duration of any flight (even if it happened to be not my first choice of poison ;))

It's a MAN flight - the only destination that regularly runs out of alcohol on board.

Perhaps they should learn to cater more for it for full flights, but then you run the risk of having 400 drunk passengers, which is not good for the crew...

I am more concerned with garlic bread - perhaps the balik salmon was a test run, and now it's time to get iOs to complain about bread instead!!

I complained yesterday about the garlic bread.

I'm still happy about the bottle of red I was gifted :)

Wonder if one of those guys was the Ryan guy that got cut off from drinking too much, he said he was in BKK :D

You made me wonder there for a minute, but he was on a ULH to DXB when he got canned.

He also sounded like a prat in his posts here and the guys I was talking to seemed OK. ;)

Not actually a drink shortage, but on my last flight to MAD (in economy) they were closing everything two hours before landing (drinks and duty free), just after coffee and tea were served. So they refused to give me a Jack Daniel's with cola when I asked for one. Even not a Coke, they only had juices. I had never seen this two hours before landing and in the flight connecting from PEK the FA opened it up just to serve me a bottle of wine just before descent. Maybe it was because this particular FA knew I was gold? He was with the purser when she came to say hello and all that stuff. It was also strange that in the MAD flight the purser didn't came at all (not that I care though).

On EK 42 on Monday they were refusing to serve DP or any type of bubbles as the welcome drink in First, said they cannot serve alcohol in the UK while in the ground. For duty reasons.

Don't know if this is a new 'enhancement' or just a crew mix up, but I could have sworn I have been served DP as a pew take off drink flying from LHR and Man.

Maybe they recently had an HMRC inspection and were tightening it up.

FWIW have always had DP on ground ex-LHR/LGW last year when I was on it.
