ICE Errors on 777s

I've recently been noticing two particular bugs on ICE on the older 777s without the digital widescreen:

1. I get a pop-up "This programme is unavailable at the moment", specifically when viewing the flight map in full screen, it just stays there indefinitely, but if you tap the screen to pull up the menu it goes away.

2. I've seen on several flights that the aircraft position and even daylight/nighttime graph overlay are about 40 degrees too far west and a little too far north. On a recent flight to JNB it looked like we were landing in the ocean south of Nigeria.

Has anyone else noticed this and is it limited to the 777s with the old ICE or has it been happening on the digital widescreens and other aircraft? I've seen it on 77W and 772.

I have noticed several things with ICE. Seems weird but maybe others can confirm.

On the 777 in J
The ICE system has never failed in any K seat I have travelled on . I have sat in the A seats a few times and that also seemed Okay.

ICE has failed a few times on the B and J seats for me( this is probably just bad luck). Weird thing is that on the middle 3 seats the failure rate is much more higher with the crew having to do multiple resets and it didn't even work after this on 2 occasions .

On the 380 in J
The ICE failure rate on the 380 in J seems extremely high in the E/F seats.

I don't fly that often on the 380 but AFAIK I have done 12 flights on the A380 in J.The ICE never gave any problems in the A and K seats ( roughly half of my flights). On the other hand the ICE in the E/F seats has worked only ONCE without a glitch in the 6/7 flights !!!!
On all other occasions the crew had to reboot between 1-3 times and twice we were offered different seats.

I Wonder if the connections to the various Screens are different. When they reboot the rebooting happens only in certain groups of seats.

Several years ago i worked on some of the hardware and there was definitely different hardware for different seats (or groups of seats), so what you say has credibility. I remember outboard and inboard controllers and I'm sure there were more, including specials where seat config. was unusual like at doors and bulkheads.

I would expect EK to analyse data such as you describe and act on it, but fear I may expect too much.

Also noticed the connecting flight information with gates displayed on inbound to DXB wasn't formatted, it was just plain white text without spacing on blue background

Yep, got that one:

For the record, it was a 77W, J class, F seat.

Yep mine also a 77W, A6-EBV, Y class, K seat. Two-class.

Then last night another 77W, but three-class, this time sitting in J, E seat, the flight map appeared fine. Was outbound of DXB so no connecting flight info. This one has digital widescreen, so my money is on it being related to the older ICE.
