Aircraft Change

Afternoon all,

EK40 on 30/9 has gone from 2 class to 3 class (I know this as they have now assigned me seat 6K as opposed to 3K on MMB)

Do they change aircraft 3 weeks out? And is it worth snagging 9 / 10K instead instead of being right up by the toilets?

I hate the bulk head. Go 9 or upgrade to f ^

Oi!! You know F isn't available on the BHX sectors!!!

:mad::mad::)

Snagged 9, watch em' change it back tomorrow and I'll lose 3K haha.

Is this the 3 class they keep taking off the EK41/42 rotation? :D

Its bloody weird isn't it? Prob a glitch on their website, can't believe they need to change an aircraft 3 weeks away.

I've got this horrible feeling they are going to substitute it for a non - ER version because when you look at what's on your flight it mentions 600 channels of ICE.

First world problems perhaps but I thought all the newer and upgraded flight cabins had 1800 channels of ICE?

It's not that I want to watch all that telly, it's more the thought of the dreaded deeply reclining product on some of the non ER 300's

So I suppose the question is, does any of that deeply recling exist on the old 300s that are 3 class?

I don't think there are any 773 or 77w with deeply reclining - they are all lie flats but some with older versions of ice and some 3 class 773 with sky cruisers not suites. It will probably be a 300er with suites.

Wasn't what I meant. Mines already been swapped from a 2 class to a 3 class, but with no F product.

Not terribly concerned if it goes back to 2 class, its the 3 class with old product I was querying, not whether its likely to be subbed or not.

I realise that-I was really trying to make the point that the BHX flights are in flux.
The few times I had this on a BHX flight you could sit in F but with J service. On one flight I moved up from J cabin after boarding and the other time I could chose seats in the F cabin under Manage my Booking

Ah okay, seating plan in MMB only shows seats in rows 6 to 11 selectable.

I've experienced 3-class plane on 2-class route. F is usually closed off with no pax. On one heavily overbooked occasion, some J pax were seated in F (sky-cruiser seats) with J service.

Regarding the ICE point: you can still have an 77W, just sometimes with older generation of ICE with the lower selection (A6-EB*). However, some of these have now been retrofitted with wifi and live tv while newer aircraft have not (yet).

I don't think there are any deep recline J seats left in the 777 now that the last 777-200 has been retired.

Thanks for that.
