Pre-check / Global Entry
Hi - I called Emirates and was told there is no way for me to enter my known traveler ID. I know they do not participate in TSA pre-check. My family members are all global entry. We are flying JFK-DXB.
- Any chance at all that TSA pre-check will work for us if Emirates doesn't enter in the #? - Any advice on getting global entry to work on the return leg? Thank you! |
No, since they don't participate in precheck there is no way for them to enter it into their system, thus there is no way to guarantee precheck. And without the known traveler number TSA won't know that you have pre check.
Though at JFK security they sometimes shuffle random people into the precheck line, which has happened to me a few times when flying EK out of JFK as well. Interestingly the few times it has happened was when I was on EK208 (the 4:30pm departure). So its definitely possible, but i wouldn't get my hopes up. I understand why you would want it though as T4 security is a clusterf*** (even when in J/F). For global entry it will work automatically, no need to put in your known traveller number into your reservation since its not even possible to do so. Just go to the kiosk and swipe your passport and it should already know you're incoming flight info. If not you can enter it yourself. |
If you have a global entry ID can you just show it when by the security gate and they'll let you go through the precheck side?
We just got our global entry numbers, but didn't realize we couldn't use them for our emirates flights :-( We are flying emirates business class. Does this offer an expedited security line at JFK at least? |
Global entry is used upon arrival - no registration with the airline is required
Pre-check is used upon departure and airline participation is required. Emirates does not participate. |
I'm aware of the difference in terminology - bigger issue is if there is any way to use tsa precheck if the airline doesn't participate?
Does emirates have expedited lines for business class passengers? |

Does emirates have expedited lines for business class passengers? I only fly Emirates out of Boston where they share terminal C with JetBlue. There is a priority lane but Emirates First and Business customers don't get to use it. Very frustrating. Don't know about other airports. |
Do you know if airlines have to pay for the privilege of letting their passengers use pre-check? Seems like it should be a separate TSA, airport type of service

As this is only peripherally related to Emirates, you might want to head over the Travel Safety and Security forums where there's a lot more expertise on how Global Entry and PreCheck work. There's a subforum on trusted travellers with information about these programs.

I agree, but I know jetblue has the option to pay for expedited security and such. maybe not pre-check where you still have to take of belt/shoes, but at least a shorter line
