Champagne in first

Just been to a DP 05 launch...

Kicked out when sir Tim Clark arrived at the ek board dinner...

Anyway it's great, hope the 04 stocks run out soon it's fabulous!

It will doubtless be welcome news for some folk, but for me the DP has never been a USP of travelling in F.

Personally I've always had an affinity with the line of that Sinatra song
"I get no kick from champagne....."

Am not averse to the occasional glass, but I won't be amongst those guzzling it down - regardless of whether it's 04 or 05 that's on offer.......:td:

More of it for you, fill yer boots !

It's a Cole Porter song.....but I agree. Champagne isn't a big deal for me either. Maybe it will be after I try some 05'

Ah, Cole Porter, yes, thanks for setting the record (literally!) straight ^

But ......were his lyrics ever delivered better than by Mr. Sinatra ....??

The 05 gets reviews suggesting it is a wine to drink early - one wine merchant suggests that it is a wine to buy and drink whilst waiting for your 04 to mature :D
That being said I have found that the 04 tastes much better on the ground than in the air.

Well, lets see how good (or bad) it is compared to 02.

while visiting DP, they told me that 05 is only available in a very limited qtty and thus will only be available for a short time

They say that to everyone (about most vintages) to preserve the image that the wine is "exclusive" and therefore able to charge a "scarcity" premium, when the reality is, they have absolutely tons of the stuff - just take the hundreds of cases served daily by EK, which is only one airline customer!

After all, they must keep some back to launch the Plénitude re-releases every so often :D

The P2 is stunning and was one of the tastings last night.

There will be plenty of 05 to go round until I place my order ;)
