ex CMB flights with EK
 

Been trying to book a ticket ex CMB using multiple destination since their booking system over haul and usually always getting the 'unable to price ticket.. please come back later' message.

Called the customer service and it now seems that EK for premium class (Biz and F) will price it as two separate tickets: CMB - DXB then DXB - XXX. Which comes out much higher than ex CMB used to :(

The reason is that I would like to use DXB as a stop over on the way back...as opposed to booking a simple return ticket.

I guess this benefit / loophole is closed... any suggestions...?

It still works in economy but booked over the phone. If you try to price online it will give the same error.

You have to transit straight through. Where are you trying to go?

Works if you have a flight ex Dxb in the morning as you can take the 17.00 ish flight Cmb to Dxb spend the night then fly to where you want to go...

It's annoying but great if you can spare the day.

I would like to book: CMB -> JKF -> DXB -> CMB

This time for example I was going to use MXP as my stop over city so: CMB -> MXP -> JFK -> CMB.

But right now apparently there is a fare restriction for premium fares ex CMB so the rule is that it will be booked as two tickets, first being CMB - DXB round trip and second is DXB - XXX. The ex DXB tickets are much more expensive than the ex CMB fares so the benefit is lost.

Not possible anymore only on promo fares in C and F which are only valid for max 1M. All other fares which are 4M do not longer allow stopover in DXB. So keep an eye on the promo fares (unfortunately at the moment there is only one in economy)

Ok so get the latest flight of Cmb and your connection is plus 12 hours...good point about the one month return that's also an issue.

Not sure why ek is so bothered about ex Cmb to be honest.

Much the same reason they got bothered about CAI/DAM/TIP/KHI...

CMB-USA fares in F are still there, just as cheap and widely available. The stop in Dubai is not available during most of the summer according to the fare rules. I just booked CMB-DXB (Stop) DXB-LAX(one way) for the same $4000 fares Ive gotten all year. The booking is for September. However, my booking for July does not allow the stop over and as OP mentioned I am paying for 2 one ways (Reason I book one way is I return to DXB via Singapore on SQ/EK) The round trip in Sept is apex $6000

Yes they obviously still exist however stopover in DXB is only possible with the promotional fares (max stay 1M). Not anymore with the regular fares

I got Cmb sez for £2k in F not exactly a bargain especially when you consider I have to go to Cmb to get the flights...good job it's ramadan and I'm in the mood to get out of dubai!

Anyone seen a EK J/F promo ex CMB recently which allows DXB stopover? Any without the 1M validity... is 4M the max for Promos?
I am going to SriLanka on a short break away and wondering if i rather shall book one way to CMB (out of DOH/MCT is the cheapest EK J) and then get some good deal ex CMB to go somewhere else later on (US, EU, CPT)... Ex CMB to JFK was of the best deals one could get i believe, whats hot now? (if any)....

For me living in DXB at least having 1 DXB Stopover would be great (could ditch the inbound one)..

That's exactly why ex-CMB fares don't allow the stopover :D

Well the other Gulf3 still offer it or am i missing something?
Been stated here that occasionally EK brings back ex CMB deals with less hard T&C's...
QR offers a DOH stopover in some fares/destinations and EY fully allows AUH STO

EK couldn't handle the reduced revenue from DXB based pax, apparently!
