Thank you
I have bagged myself my first ever upgrade using Expert Flyer.
London Gatwick to Dubai (Return) in September. Cost me an arm and a leg in terms of miles, 156,000 miles return for 2 people using Economy Flex £556 + £71 Upgrade tax per person! (Still 70% cheaper than full cost) The Emirates call center were more than happy to help! Thanks for your tips! What's the Gatwick lounge like? Worth arriving early? |
IMHO, LGW is one of the better lounges on the network with regards to F&B offerings (and it's massive) - but YMMV as to how much you enjoy lounges :D
|
Looks like an early check-in is in order ;)
|
If you are on one of the A380 flights it's probably a good idea to do so, as the walk to the A380 stands can be 15 minutes if you aren't rushing :D
|
I carefully chose the A380 on both occasions !
15 minutes ? Wow ! |
That's the only drawback of taking the A380 at LGW. The stand seems like its a mile away from the lounge.
The F&B, general lounge cleanliness , ,ability to sit in a relatively quiet area etc is way better than at LHR. |
It is really long... Boarding was also in shambles... And I was in Y. There isn't enough space for the queue of passengers that forms meaning a lot of pushing and shoving!
|
I haven't been on the Y in A380 and therefore cannot comment .
Did have an issue while coming back to gatwick and had to deplane from from the J cabin via the stairs down to Y . |
The only negative, in my view, of the EK LGW lounge is poor wifi and cell phone signal quality. So if you are planning to go early and get some work done, there may be problems.
