Refund cancelation
Hi there!
I am from Taiwan. My friend booked a ticket to Prague about almost one month ago. Due to some consideration, I would like to change my plane ticket or the refund. I contacted emirate before, they said my ticket is a nonrefund ticket. Then I ckecked on the website, and saw a sheet for refund. I thought there might be some difference between the regulations from the website and what the staff told me, so I handed in my ticket information online last week. I got an email from emirate last night, informing me of the refund for tax only. I didn't know that handing in the sheet online is all the process for refund. Actually I wasn't asking for the refund, just wanted to know how much of the money I could get back, and some details of the refund. I replied to the cancel center, and also called back many times. The money is important for me, I would like to ask whether I can do anything to cancel my refund, please! Deeply thanks for your help and consideration. |
You can try calling EK but I do not think it will help. I seem to remember that cancelling a ticket online takes several steps and requires you to confirm that you understand what you are doing. I'm also not at all sure EK could easily reverse the process at this stage.

Thanks
Thanks for the reply! I called Emirate just now! But they were not on work on Friday. But I thought the process of asking a refund is too hasty, they even didn't double confirm with me as well. How if I only mispress the submit buttom? They should showed me the correct amount I would receive and confirmed with me afain. :(

If you bought a ticket in the Saver fare class, then you will indeed only receive taxes back. The fee to change Saver tickets is usually €250 (or some similar amount in another currency), so you can usually recoup some of the fare by only changing tickets.
Flex tickets can be changed for €100 and cancelled for €150. Flex tickets can be worth the flexibility if they're not much more expensive, especially if you're a frequent flier and will benefit from the extra miles. You should speak to Emirates on the phone as soon as you can. If you're lucky, they will work things out for you and reverse the refund, so you can change the ticket instead. The refund has to be worked out manually, I think, which is why there is no confirmation screen as such. However, you must tick these three boxes in order to submit the form, so honestly it's your own fault that you didn't read them! I would be surprised if they do anything for you. – I understand the fare conditions of my ticket/document relating to refunds advised at the time of purchase. If my ticket/document is non-refundable, I understand I will only receive a refund of the applicable unused taxes. – I confirm that by requesting a refund my booking will be cancelled. – I understand that the refund process cannot be reversed once I have submitted this refund request. |

Try calling Emirates elsewhere. If they are closed in Taiwan, they may well be open somewhere else.

Thank you all for the reply. I did my best effort to contact Emirates. The only answer I got is they didn't have the right to deal with it. It's only processed by cancel center. Could anyone kindly tell me how I can contact with the center? I can only reached them via email. But it's not instant enough. It's really important to me. Or can anyone suggest me how to do, please? :(

Unfortunately, when filling in the form, it's pretty clear it's not just a "test".
You have to click boxes confirming each of the following statements: I understand the fare conditions of my ticket/document relating to refunds advised at the time of purchase. If my ticket/document is non-refundable, I understand I will only receive a refund of the applicable unused taxes.* I confirm that by requesting a refund my booking will be cancelled.* I understand that the refund process cannot be reversed once I have submitted this refund request.* I agree to the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy and I confirm the details entered are correct.* http://www.emirates.com/english/help...hanges/refunds |
