Seq no.
Can we add sequence number when possible I'm curious to see if this seems to play into upgrade chances

Am very much in agreement.
Of the many things that can influence op-up decisions, sequence numbers are not amongst them.

Always thought it might play a FCFS type thing when going down the manifest but now I will not worry about it.
Incoming flight was 2 hours late arriving and was chased down with new boarding pass while walking to the gate. Thankfully the PEK plane was the same plane I flew in on so no chance of missing it since the PEK flight was now late too

J to F
DXB - ARN
Upgrade location: gate
Date of travel: January 2
Ticket: Saver
Tier status : just made gold
I loved the unexpected upgrade. Maybe EK wanted to show me what the good life was really about now that I had made Gold - in the hope I would book into F in the future? In any case, great flight.

Except that I think sequence numbers are linked to first letter of last name of the pax or first letter of last name of the pax with lowest first letter of last name in PNRs with multiple pax.

Hmm......I hear what you say mrtdxb.
Except ......I'm not at all sure that we have found any conclusive evidence (?) that the first letter of the last name, or the last letter of the first name, or the middle letter of the middle name (and so on ....) play any consistent part in the selection process.

Single pax, yes. Don't think there has ever been any doubt on THAT one......

Sequence numbers are simply the order in which someone has checked onto a flight: it's an easy way for ground staff to single out a specific pax on a plane, without resorting to ticket numbers (especially in the case of duplicate names, e.g. a family travelling).
