Miles Accelerator 'appearances'
 

Hello,

Does the appearance of Miles Accelerator bonuses vary depending on the time that a booking is made? There is a flight that I have been looking at booking for later in the year, that I have been checking on the prices over the last few weeks, but where there was previously a miles accelerator bonus available, now it doesn't show at all!

I am logged into my Skywards account whenever I run the search, so found this a little strange! I always thought that a bonus for a given flight (i.e. Y class, EK347, KUL-DXB, August) would be fairly fixed, regardless of whether I was making the booking in January, March or June...

Mileage accelerator bonuses are based on when the booking is made , not the date of travel per se. That there was a bonus before during february, that doesn't mean there is in March for the same flight dates

The miles accelerator bonus only last for a period of time, so its very possible that it has now gone. I think it just depends on loads etc - once a certain number of tickets are sold it disappears.

Slightly off topic, but I find the appearances of miles accelerator have diminished considerably over the past couple of years. Whereas I would be getting them at least once a month, I don't think I have had one instance in the past 9 months, and even before that it was reducing. Maybe its just down to my routes, and others experiences are different... I suspect not though :(

Same experience here. Nothing for me for the last year or so, despite several flights per week I take (mostly Gulf and Europe).

Are they in decline for Y and J fares? I am racking up some excellent accelerator bonuses for a F Flex fare (on one ticket 20,000 miles). I usually find great deals still on certain routes, especially DXB-CMB.

I observe the same on Y fares. Since over a year I didn t benefit of any accelerator and I take in average more than a return flight per month...
