im in j with the wife tomorrow and looking to use miles to upgrade to f. Expert flyer shows 4/3 - but the seat map shows 2 seats left. Emirates website allows you to purchase 4 seats. I thought do not oversell f? - anyone got a clue as to explain this?

Seats 1A and 2A are always blocked for UM pax. These will be released on the day. Therefore, there are probably 4 seats available based on what you say.

There were only 2 seats in f so I snagged them at check in.

Is this usually correct for B777 as well as A380? (OP is on a B777 I believe)

I've just upgraded one of each and have the choice of any first seat on the B777 leg.

Yep f both ways. Same in May but return is 380 then 77l to Japan :)
