Not as of this morning from what I can tell.
Burned more than 600k miles (including 300k just before midnight local time last night) in anticipation nonetheless! |

Did you burn 600k on upgrades?! How did you even find any availability! Well done!
But yes, all on upgrades to a variety of US destinations in spring and summer 2015. I found a fair amount of availability to IAH and DFW (upgauge to A380), JFK for certain daily flights (3rd daily A380 added likely helps) as well as SEA and ORD (even saw Z3 D7 for LAX-DXB in July!). Both to and from Dubai. |
It all seems a bit of an anticlimax now.
Past the deadline and no change that I can see. |
looks like the changes aren't online yet. Everything is the same. Maybe its market specific?
*The new fare types will be available in most markets. |

Probably have to wait until it's 1st February everywhere.
Once the changes do take effect, I intend to ditch the MBNA Skywards Elite credit card & replace it with the MBNA Etihad Guest credit card. Anyone got both these cards? I've only had the Elite since November & I'm afraid it wont look too good, if I apply for another MBNA card, so soon after receiving the Elite card. Hence my temptation to book a last flight on EK. |
This is really annoying.
I was looking forward to buying a Flex Plus this morning and it still isn't available. Pretty poor punctuality. |

Hence my temptation to book a last flight on EK. 1. My yearly spend is very high and hence I earn a lot of miles with EK. 2. Emirates spend is 4 miles per £1 spent 3. 10% off Emirates Holiday 4. Business class check-in If they take, (2), (3) and (4) away from me I will ditch the card. They may accept you, but likely they will reduce your limit on your EK card. But you should wait for 6 months after card opened. |

They said February 2015. Could be last day of the month
|
but why would they write that you have to book before 1/31 when you can in fact do it anytime until they actually change it?
|
No changes to air fares yet on booking page?
Thought it was rolling out Feb - or as someone else said could they be waiting for the end of the month? |
Just to confirm W fare is considered flex or flex plus?

According to QF it will be Flex, not Flex Plus - but I'm sure we will find out soon!

I just booked my latest flight (W). According to EK website, miles awarded remains the same as pre-Feb.

Why everybody is impatient to see the new rates?
The longer we can book at older rates, the better it is (more miles earning, cheaper upgrades...) |

I'm just cheesed off that I made a couple of bookings last Saturday, including one outside the (then) current bookable dates, to get them in before the changes.
I could potentially have taken my time and saved some money if things had been clear. |

its coming soon (this month), current rules apply until launch.
He did indicate that there were now better miles earning opportunities, but didn't seem impressed when I pointed out it was probably only going to be true if you paid significantly more. One thing he mentioned that I hadn't picked up on was the new lower levels of miles equate to 25%, 35% and 70% of those earned before. I don't know if that's across the board, or an average or what. |
The new fares have arrived.
Just having a play now. |

Quick update, checking some usual routes:
W is Flex R,E,Y Flex Plus as we speculated before via QFF Fares seem to have not changed, only mileage earning. |
I know we may be seeing different things as it rolls out, but I'm not seeing any of the cheapest Special Fares. Saver is the lowest and the 4th column of fares goes to the lowest of the next class up (J Saver or F Saver).
Saver shows the same price as before, but does that mean lower fares will come with the Specials? |
I'm not seeing new fares just changes to mileage too.
|
To be fair to Emirates, this system looks a lot better and so much easier to understand in terms of charges etc.
|
Only seeing saver and flex plus in business. Flex plus costs £5,285
All 3 choices available in economy Both saver and flex plus in first class. Flex plus return will cost £6,600 London Heathrow to dubai March Did they change their system last minute? I'm sure I saw 3 options in economy, 3 in business and 1 in first |

There is definitely a price increase.
In economy, in previous system a full flex would cost £764, now a flex plus costs £842 |

In economy, in previous system a full flex would cost £764, now a flex plus costs £842 In terms of getting the full range of fares - it seems to depend on your initial class selection. If you select "Economy" you are shown Economy Saver, Flex, Flex Plus and Business Saver. If you select "Business" you are shown Business Saver, Flex, Flex Plus and First Saver. If you select "First" you are shown First Saver and First Flex Plus. Note if you use Advanced Search you don't get any choice in which fare class you can buy at the moment. You are given the cheapest for your class of service. Incidentally, First Saver is cheaper than Business Flex Plus on some routes! And the mileage earning on First Saver and First Flex Plus on say, LHR-BKK is 19497 and 19500...I think I know which one I would go for, considering the restrictions are 300 GBP for refund and 200 GBP for changes whereas Flex Plus has no change/refund charges...! |
anyone worked out how to do a stopover in DXB when booking a flex fare?
i used to just do it as a multi city booking, but when i do that now it only offers econ / business / first, i.e No option to select flex |
Am I the only one who is getting this message on every Y Fare (Flex Plus included).
"*This fare type can only be upgraded with Miles when checking in for your flight." Maybe its an IT related error? |
I get a pretty good flex plus price, much cheaper than before!?

I think the new fares are pretty good, however I can't see any saver or special saver fares. But when I select a business saver inbound and flex outbound I get some fantastic prices and the milages is ok. Maybe it's all good after all?

Last month I got my Y class ticket KWI - KUL - KWI for 189 KWD with 4,000 tier miles.
Looking at the same fare/destination again, it is still the same price, except that instead of earning 4,000 tier miles for the flight I earn 2,800 tier miles for booking with the lowest fare. |

The lowest prices are aimed at the once a year EK passengers who don't care about the miles. They won't notice any difference. |
here something regarding the booking classes...
Economy Special: X/V Saver: Q/L/T Flex: U/B/M/W Flex Plus: R/E/Y Business Special: O Saver: O/I Flex: C Flex Plus: J First Flex: A Flex Plus: F Farebase indicator: F=Flex Plus S= Flex P = Saver R = Special I.e: U....PAE1 = Saver (always 4th from right) A business O class fare could be a special or a saver. |
I class can be either saver or flex depending on the route
|
Sure? Even a SYDAKL is a flex, also DXBKWI etc.
