I liked EK18 on the A380. Only disappointment was the absence of an Amenity kit even though the flight landed after midnight.

Additional Delhi Flight?

There seems to be a fourth daily flight to and from Delhi most days at the moment (EK 8512/3). Is this a response to a temporary demand or have they just made an unannounced, permanent change?

For the time being, this is only for two months. The aircraft is swapped over from the evening Rome flight, which will in turn receive the B77W from the Manchester flight.

Looks like it's permanent based on the EK press release :-

EK A380 Manchester

Also lots of temporary extras to DUR with a 77W.

Creates an even more vile situation with baggage...

NBO being upgraded to 2 daily 777 flights:

"Emirates is planning to increase capacity on Dubai – Nairobi service, as 1 of 2 daily flight to be operated by Boeing 777-300ER, instead of Airbus A330-200 aircraft. This change will be in effect from 01MAY15."

Wow!!! Excellent news! I'm so glad to hear the news and they has been so successful. As for A380, but they won't be ready to ORD anytime soon. There is no A380 double dual jetbridge.

Am I missing something here? What's so special about a 77W over a 77L? Aren't they pretty much the same with a few more seats?

Some here couldn't give a rat's ... about the Chicago upgauge but are drooling over the potential that the freed up B77L will be deployed to what is apparently the biggest gaping hole in the Emirates worldwide network.

I think is more than just "a few more seats"....F + C have the same capacity.

But on Y, the 77L has 216 seats against 304 seats on the 77W; and the 77W has more cargo capacity.

The diference from 88 Y seats is not peanuts.....:-)
