Overnight Dubai

I have a 15 hour layover in Dubai. Arrive 7 pm leave 10 am the next morning. Question should we get car go into Dubai for a few hours and then can we come back to airport and stay at hotel in airport. Don't want to have to worry about going through security the next morning. Thanks in advance

Get a hotel in dubai and spend the night (subject to visa).

Plenty of time to get a cab to a hotel have a bite to eat and some drinks.

Security won't be too busy in the morning, it's the quietest time at the airport.

Hi there,

Not sure what exactly you mean by not having to "worry about going through security....." Once you go through immigration and are no longer airside, you have little choice but to go through security again!

With that length of layover, my view is that you can consider ANY hotel that is reasonably close to the airport (say around 20 mins or 30 mins max) - of which there is a fairly wide choice, depending on personal budget of course. There is plenty of time to have an evening meal, whether at your chosen hotel or perhaps in a particular part of Dubai that you might wish to see. Then a good night's rest before setting off at 7am to allow a 7.30 check-in for the onward flight.

HTH

Edit : my post crossed with response by m3red, who knows his way around DXB far better than I do ; but looks like we're pretty much on the same wavelength anyway.
.....and yet another edit ! I meant to say 8am from hotel for an 8.30 check-in....so plenty of time for brekkie at your hotel too ....

Thanks for the quick response. I realize I have to go back through security, just wasn't sure how long the lines would be in the morning. Being one of those people that is Always Way to early thought maybe coming back to hotel in airport I would know exactly how long I could sleep :)

I'm gold so even when in y class ( not often thankfully!) I use the j and f terminal check in - you don't mention what class you are flying in and I'm not sure on how busy the main terminal is these days for economy pax for immigration or security. The latter is quicker than the former ( thank god for egate)

You also don't say when you are travelling, it's eid on Saturday and I expect from tomorrow onwards to be very busy at dxb even in the quieter times.

Hotels are plentiful and the sky is the limit. Cheap and cheerful does exist in some places and there is plenty to do.

Using miles does not preclude you from a free stop over hotel if you meet all the other requirements.

Was this the shortest connection flight available? If yes, you should have an option for Dubai Connect which saves you all the troubles.

Yes. This was the best they had.

I had a Dubai Connect in September when going to Auckland. We got transported to Le Meridien 5 mins from the airport. IMHO I would rather stay at the airport hotel (inside the terminal) or lounge next time.
The hotel was very dated, and when the neighbour/above turned on the water, pipes were screaming so loud that you could forget about sleeping. The walls were so thin that you could hear people breathing outside your hotel door :(

OP is in F and therefore should hopefully get a better hotel.

Can you go into Dubai for a few hours. Then come back to the hotel inside the airport. We will already have our boarding passes. Just thought I would have access to lounges while my husband sleeps :)

If you have the required Visa, that won't be a problem.
