Advice on Skywards Partner TAP
 

Was wondering if anyone in the forum flew with EK's partner TAP?

I would like to earn more Skywards miles, but have never flown with TAP before. Any idea how's the J class service, seat comfort, etc?

Would not bother with J if your flight is a short hop from one European country to another. Basically Tap's J seat is a Y seat with the middle seat left vacant. The service on TAP is generally very poor and they are always late. You will never complain about Ek again after stepping onto a TAP flight. Better off using easyjet for European hops. Long haul, TAP does not have a good record either, just read Skytrax to get a flavour of what to expect.

I'm flying from GIG to OSL, so the number of flights are limited. More so now due to AF's ongoing strike.

Hmm... If TAP has such a bad reputation, I guess I'll stick to LH.

I also have a problem with TAP. I normally fly LIS-DXB, but this time I am going Faro-LIS-DXB. I am flying with TAP from Faro to Lisbon on an EK code share. I have been monitoring TAP from Faro and on average they are always 2 hours late. In my case if my TAP flight is even one hour late I would miss my EK flight. It would be easier to travel by train from Faro to Lisbon, but that is not possible due to the segmentation rules. I have contacted EK, but the cost of taking an earlier TAP flight is an absolutely crazy price. Anyone got any other ideas would be much appreciated.
