Dubai Layover

Hi everyone

Me and my wife will both be using Emirates to fly to our destinations on the 27th of this month. However, we will both be flying to different countries. I will be flying to Egypt which has a total layover of 7 hours and 10 minutes while she will be flying to Pakistan which has a layover of 13 hours and 50 minutes. We will both be flying from IAD. She has already signed up for her Dubai connect but I unfortunantely am not eligible since my layover is less than 8 hours. I`m a U.S citizen and am eligible for visa free access but we are puzzled as to what choices we have. We have already seen most of Dubai but am open to more ideas that doesn`t require much transportation. Any ideas?

Thanks

If it were me then I would check in at a nearby hotel and hang out there using the facilities - may be a bit hot by the pool but still better than hanging around the airport all that time. As you have seen most of Dubai and given the current climate this may be a good option. You can of course also check in to one of the "in airport" hotels but may not feel like a break from travelling ...

Thanks for your quick response. Do you know if they`ll charge me for the day or can it be done on an hourly basis?

If you have visa free access could you not go to the same hotel as your wife but return by taxi earlier? It is possible you could even share her car there but if not a taxi won't be expensive.

Well my concern was that if they were to check for my ticket and notice that I don`t have a Dubai Connect. She mentioning the same thing to just go with her to the hotel and since she has a voucher for food I would only need to pay for my food.

Dubai lounge

Hello Everyone,

Iam new here. My question is regarding hotel or lounge accommodation at Dubai Airport.

Iam travelling from LHR-HYD with a stopover at Dubai of 12.5 hours. Iam on Emirates Blue Membership. Is Iam eligible for a STPC ??? My fare is less than 1000 US dollars.

Kindly reply please.

Thanks.

If you're an AVGeek like me, you can go to the Dubai Mall and use their flight simulator.
