Amenity kit?

I am flying GVA-DXB in J. Its a 6h35 hour long flight and lands at 23h00. Do I have any chance at all of receiving an amenity kit? Am asking as I have a 2h30 layover and would like to avoid carrying toiletries, toothbrush etc I wont need on the following flight when I will get an amenity kit. Has anyone ever got one on this leg? Many thanks in advance for your answers.

Typically not.

Toothbrush, comb, cologne etc are also available in the toilets in the a/c. Besides, you can get all of these at the DXB J Lounge which also has shower facilities.

As jackiedada says, toiletries are available from the J/F lounges at DXB, so no need for the in-flight kit.

So if your onward connection is J as well (or F), you will find all you need in the lounges.

You don't on that flight.

As other have said razor, toothbrush comb are in the lavs. Hot towels during the flight, I'm sure you will be ok. :D

Thanks

Many thanks for your rapid answers as I am flying tomorrow. Lighter hand-luggage is always a bonus.

But no hand lotion on board. If you wash your hands frequently when you travel (as I do) they tend to get dry.

I was surprised that EK doesn't provision any hand lotion in the lavs - unlike every other carrier that I have flown in J.

A curious choice given EK's otherwise generous touches.

They do in fact have hand lotion (sometimes) on board, however I have found that it is quite inconsistent as to whether it is out on display. Sometimes it can be found in the draws in the lavatories instead, or has run out on one of the sectors. Or taken by pax! A helpful crew may of course go and get some from F though :)

Yes, the hand lotion runs out sometimes in some loos. In which case, just try the next one or ask the FAs for some extra.

I'm surprised that EK doesn't give out amenity kits on this route....as EY offers wonderful kits in J and F, and usually charges lower prices than EK, at least on a O&D perspective...

EK doesn't do it as it's considered a day flight. They are usually available upon request in F.

BTW, just noticed on my last trip with EK (both on 777 and A380) that the Eau de Rochas lotion tubes are no longer there in the lavs. Anyone knows if they have been discontinued?

My experience has been that with flights of this duration, amenity kits are only provided for overnight flights. Requesting one on board will not get you one in C, but it may in F if there are any onboard.

Whoa .....Eau de Rochas lotion no longer available ....??? Surely not ??!!

Might have to think about switching all my upcoming EK travel to another carrier.

(no offence jackiedada, just having a little joke ....;) ^)

None perceived, was just thinking now that my usual stock has dried up, I'll have to start buying lotion again ;)

You should come off a flight with sufficient dental kits, hand towels (flannels to Aussies), shaving kits etc for the ensuing period until your next flight. Ditto, stock up in J/F lounge as well.

What is the etiquette when you are leaving the plane and someone has left their amenity kit? ;)
