Flex-Saver problem after ticketing

Hello,

I booked MAN-DXB-JNB return in F for my wife and infant daughter. I found a fare which stated flex on the ek website showing full 31250 tier miles. I went ahead and booked. After I booked I logged in to her account and the statement page also confirmed future travel showing the full miles.

It turns out it has booked into 'A' class which in the past gave me flex miles. However, on this occasion it is in fact a saver fare. This is confirmed in the fare rules (which I didn't read pre-booking). Now the statement page has adjusted the tier miles to 25k for future travel. It is a deduction of 6150 tier miles, OK, it is not a huge amount of tier miles but this is the exact amount of tier miles she would now be short to achieve gold.

I have:
  • I have an email confirmation which was sent when the ticket was issued stating it is a flex fare.
  • A screenshot of her statement page showing future travel displaying the full flex miles

Once her last flight on the itinerary is over I shall check but I suspect only saver miles will be credited.

What are the chances of arguing this point post travel with skywards and getting a positive outcome?

I had a similar problem 3 years ago.

It took 7 months and over 20 email reminders, but it eventually got sorted to my satisfaction.

Given the fare is actually a saver fare, you have a small chance if any is my opinion. I had a similar problem last week with an 'A' fare but the fare conditions sated flex so it was easy enough to sort out, they couldn't argue.

I could have taken more screenshots to back myself up but I really didn't expect an F fare even booked in 'A' to be a saver, lesson learnt for the future I guess. I am hoping their email which clearly states the fare to be FLEX is my ace card.

Anyway, the return leg is at the end of august so I shall contact EK then assuming they only credit saver miles. I shall try even if it takes 7 months.

I contacted skywards today via the contact us link on the ek website. Submitted my request in the morning, by 4pm my issue was resolved. The miles were credited to the account and status updated to gold. ^ to the customer services on this occasion.

Following a recent reduction in F fares I booked GLA to AKL for early next year. The initial page on the booking engine clearly indicated that I was booking a Flex fare, it also indicted a reduced Skywards and Tier mileage allocation. I booked the flight in full knowledge of this. On reading this thread I checked the booking conditions and the endorsement on my ticked both of which stated it was a Saver fare. When I checked the Skywards mileage calculator and deducted the bonus miles the mileage allocation was that for a Saver fare.
Last evening I decided to email Emirates drawing attention to this inconsistency/inaccuracy on the website and suggesting that it be changed to indicate that a Saver fare is being booked but making it clear that i was not challenging the mileage allocation as I had been fully aware of this when I made my booking.
This morning I had an email from Emirates stating that the full Flex allocation of Skywards and Tier miles would be credited to my account on completion of my flights. This was not what I had asked for nor what I expected nevertheless most welcome. Hope the information on the booking page does get updated too.
