Live TV

I was on an old 777-300ER the other day, with the old non-digital ICE and it had both OnAir (that didn't work) and live TV (5 channels, inc. BBC World US feed, an most notably one that had live World Cup coverage) - then connected to an A380 with the ICE system that's the generation behind the latest one without live TV; the question is, has anyone else encountered the live TV on a newer plane/newer IFE system or is it only being retrofitted into the old 777's with Aeromobile as they move to OnAir, or was I on a test flight?

They've only been fitted on a very small number of planes - I think around 20. And they're all 777s.

That's more up to date information than I've seen on here before. It was reported a while back that A6-ECC and A6-ECD were trialing Wifi and live TV, but these have ICE Digitil Widescreen. not the old version as described in the OP.

Do you have a more specific breakdown of what airframes are equipped with the live TV system?

Live TV

I had it on a recent flight from Kuwait. I hearthey were trialling it on a small number of 777's before a wider role out. Was pretty good. Bbc, CNN, cnbc, Eurosport and one other plus works cup when playing.

I suspect it's going in when they replace Aeromobile with OnAir.

Had this on DXB-SEA on a 77W. Was fun to use.

Was somewhat disappointed to be on an older 77W recently - A6-EBJ (2005 delivery) - but was pleasantly surprised with live TV and Internet (via OnAir). Caught one of the world cup matches, which was great.

Any way to figure out if there is Live TV on a certain 77W?

Traveling from DXB-SEZ during the Super Bowl and would love to see it
