EK.com issues
Looking to book a trip from LHR-CHC in F. I prefer to leave London on the 20.15 EK flight and transfer to the morning A380 to SYD before taking the 777 to CHC. This allows a reasonable 3 hour connection rather that 90 mins from the 22.00 LHR departure.
There have always been issues getting the site to show the A380 option to SYD as it shows the 777 flight from DXB with one stop to SYD that then continues to CHC. This is solved by using the multi-city option of LHR-SYD and then SYD-LHR with arrival and departure from SYD on the same day.
However doing this does not show the EK 20.15 flight from LHR as an option connecting to the EK A380 SYD flight but does show the 22.00 as well as the 21.15 QF flight connectiing to the EK A380 SYD flight as well as the EK 20.15 flight connnecting to an earlier QF flight to SYD.
If I enter the multi-city as LHR-DXB and then DXB-CHC I get to use the 20.15 EK flight from LHR and then the A380 to SYD connecting to the 777. The fares for all of the options are the same.
So eventually I can get the options I want but only by entering the correct multi-city routing. I thought it could be something about the site limiting choices to short connections but 2 options offered when looking at LHR-SYD-CHC are 5 and 17 hours.
Not major as I can get around the issues but if I didn't know something about the EK timetable I couldn't. Seems odd especially as the website offers a lot of similar options to those I want but on QF metal.

My point is that it is odd that the EK website shows only a limited number of available and appropriate flight combinations using EK metal and that it additionally apperars to point customers to combinations using QF metal.
Hope that's clearer
