BOS-DXB 85% Load Factor for first three weeks in March.

EK had an 85% Load Factor for the first three weeks of BOS-DXB service. Introductory fares definitely helped the route.

Do the math here: http://www.massport.com/media/248942...ic-summary.pdf

Interesting point - the amount of passengers flying to/through Dubai was fairly close to the difference in amounts of passengers to Europe for March 2013 vs March 2014.

Yes, it went out full in all 3 classes when I flew to Boston in April and May...

Looks like EK has already upgauged flights starting August 1st to the 77W from the 77L. Come on A380 :D.

Dieuwer May 31, 2014 3:49 pm

Price wise, EK is way too expensive for the product they offer.

BOS-DXB 85% Load Factor for first three weeks in March.

And yet they are full at least on this route. Your statement doesn't seem to chime with basic economic theory.

They are not interested in your business. They want to take people from the ISC and back...

Prices ex the USA are insane.

EK has an excellent Revenue Management team.

Indian Sub Continent
In fact some markets are much more price aggressive than others.

Is EK selling tickets in Argentine pesos? If so, that explains that to me, as the official exchange rate from Argentine pesos to USD is a joke. Check GRU/GIG-DXB, those tickets might make more sense in USD.
