Emirates Fleet (Dubai to Larnaca)
 

I got my itinerary a few days ago and I noticed the changed of fleet in flight from Dubai to Larnaca and then I saw these photos:

B777-300

When I flew to Larnaca 8 months ago, I didnt remember emirates using the A330-200. Why the sudden change? It looks like an economy cabin. Do they really use this? I mean this is emirates. :(:(:(:(:(

3.5 hour flight to a small C class city and you want Suites?

Perhaps they figured out that to fill up a 777, they need to get half of the population of Larnaca....

this flight (EK107) is actually from Dubai - Larnaca - Malta. It was full when I flew.

I flew with other airlines (major and minor) and their business class cabin is way better than emirates. To think that emirates is one of the famous and luxurious airline around people will expect something better than this. their fare is one of the expensive too and then this is all you will get. and btw, this flight is from Dubai - Larnaca - Malta. it just doesn't make sense to me. probably because people prefer other airline which provide better service for cheap price.

A330-200 will be replaced by the A350 in the near future...

how near is the "near future"? :(:(:(:(

I agree that the 330 is not nice but for a 3h45m flight from DXB-LCA it seems adequate IMO. QR and GF both use narrow body planes with equally mediocre products on their BAH/DOH-LCA flights.

This is one of the pitfalls for EK having an all wide body fleet.

Always the A330 to Sana'a as well. Economy on the newer planes is nicer. In fact, given the crap quality of the J cabin, I've started to just fly Y to save my company some money.

I found the 330 j seat to be quite comfortable.

you gotta be kidding me. its the biggest POS ever. the 330s seemingly have been raggedy and old/worn-out atleast IME. I was under the impression that EK has a 2 yr maintenance schedule -- so not sure if I caught the tail end of scheduled service on one 330 or if the crap equipment is common/regular for the routes it operates on.

After seeing this post I decided to go on a 1 week break to Larnaca. SAH > DXB > LCA all in the crappy A330. I'm just going to fly Y and watch movies on a tablet given how crap J is...
