Aircraft changed

Hi,

I am booked on EK381 HKG-DXB for 5NOV14 (LOL).
Why did they change aircraft now?
I mean...I would expect a change a few day before, not 7 months before.
Now 77W is scheduled (was 388 when I booked)

Showing 777 for 4 and 5 Nov. Must be a temporary disruption for a scheduled check/ maintenance ....

:(

I was sure this flight was with 388 :(
But hopefully I booked the 384 to HKG via BKK to be sure to flown with 388 :)

What a sad! :)

Thanks.

But I do not understand this lines:

EK381 HKG0035 – 0500DXB 388 x23
EK381 HKG0035 – 0500DXB 77W 23

And, why do I see the change only on 4th and 5th November?

x means no service and 2,3 indicates days of the week - Tuesday and Wednesday. So it means that on Tuesdays and Wednesdays no 388 service and instead operated by 77W.

So is the "x" related to "Monday"?

That means, on Tuesday/Wednesday only 77W instead on 388, right? :(

I wanted to fly 388 on the DXB-HKG-DXB...as said, fortunately I chose the outbound leg with the stop-over in BKK :)

The "x" stands for "except" so yes, the A380 is on all days except these two and the B777 is used on them.
