Yup that's pretty much how I am feeling about the whole situation. Bluntly it's just greed to me and no thought given or human element. I actually spoke to a skywards supv on the phone today. Told her what I had gone though. She thought it was hilarious and was laughing with someone in the background! She said that it was more than likely a seat would not be released on this sector and that I would have to keep waiting. When I told her I was not all happy with this she asked me what I wanted her to do. Release the seat please. Again a clear no and laughter it's obviously a joke to them and being only one out of millions of customers there is not attempt to pacify my request.
On another note I called SQ a2 weeks ago and they are prepared to elevate me straight to Gold if I book my next flight with them. An offer I can't refuse and will most likely take them up on it. It's just a pity the connecting in SIN is long.

I just called for a waitlist and was denied. Speaking of consistency and customer experience.

She gave me a really muddled answer about availability. "There are seats available, but no upgrade seats." So if it doesn't fill up D seats may open up in a few days? "No, you can upgrade on board if something becomes available. The return flight is the problem." What? You just said there are empty seats, so could they open up? What has the return sector three weeks later got to do with anything? "If there are cancellations, you could maybe upgrade." Eh, you just said there are empty revenue seats. In the end she said I should keep checking. Terrible.

So maybe she could waitlist me in case anything opens up? No, they don't do that. I said they do, cause I have been waitlisted several times. She said, yes maybe two years ago. I said actually, I was waitlisted in February. She basically called me a liar, then said "someone" must have done it. Looks like there's a rogue Robin Hood of waitlisting within Emirates! :D

D should work for Plats (they have an availability within the 'normal' availability, dont ask, however if there available they confirmed it the last times), Z only T-72h
