Spending miles in increments
 

I'd like to upgrade a ZRH-DXB-DAC trip. 50k miles to upgrade. DXB-DAC is 30k, ZRH-DXB is 32500. The problem is, ZRH-DXB is currently not available.

What happens if ZRH-DXB becomes available after I upgrade DXB-DAC? Do I pay the difference to 50k miles or will they charge me 32500? I don't want to pay 12500 miles extra, but I also want to book in case availability disappears.

I would upgrade what is available now.As soon as the next upgrade becomes available contact EK by phone. They will cancel the initial upgrade and then do both at the same time.

I do this all the time so that I get at least one sector upgraded rather than none. ;-)

If you do it online you will have to pay the separate price for each upgrade (if you are doing it at different times as in your case)

Great, thanks for the quick reply! The outbound upgrade has already disappeared... I will upgrade what I can and call if more comes up.
