how to book to Europe
 

I would like to experience Emirates first class. So based on their ridiculous award chart I can go as far as LHR, CDG or MUC (Munich)
However I can't seem to be able to price out a ticket from IAd to MUC or any of those. Why is that? Do they not fly that route or not direct, is that why?
I would like to go end of April.
I'm confused because the miles calculator recognizes those airport codes but not when i want to price out a ticket to check on times.
Does Emirates do direct flights to Europe?

They fly JFK-MXP, but any other route to Europe would require routing via DXB. I assume that they don't publish fares U.S.-DXB-Europe; so you'd probably have to buy two awards, one to DXB and then another one DXB-Europe.

mecabq is correct. You can probably force it by clicking on "Multiple destinations", then booking IAD-DXB-Europe. You won't pay US-Europe sector, but US-DXB plus DXB-Europe.

Why would you want to fly to europe via DXB which is an extra 5 hours or so in the wrong direction to then double back on yourself?

At the point of their original post, I don't think they realised that the flights would go via DXB.

Which is either an excellent job by the EK marketing department, or the person believes that where they live is the centre of the world. Interesting both ways.

yes it was my mistake that almost all routes go through dubai. I suck I know:)

I have 25k-30k points to burn. they were gifted to me. i doubt i'll use them . maybe i can donate or gif them to someone else :( i wish i could trade them for united miles or something

Transferring miles also costs cash, unfortunately. You could buy something off Emirates High Street http://www.emirateshighstreet.com/ (delivery charges...) or try to use them in raffles which they sometimes have on the EK website.
