Oh well, no problem. I'll pack a light change of clothes and toothbrush/flannel/small deodorant.

As long as I get an amenity kit on one of the segments though - I hear they are pretty decent (well, better than the rubbish on ones on BA, at least).

Are there any shower facilities for J PAX transiting through DBX?

I have around a 1hr 50mins transfer time (assuming everything is running on schedule) - would that be enough time, if there are facilities?

There are showers but I wouldn't recommend going for a shower with a 1hr 50 min transfer time if you are new to DXB.

It takes at least 15 min minimum or even longer to get to the lounge as you have to clear transit security as well and also take the train if you have landed in A or if the next flight is from A

Several times its taken 30 min for me especially if we had to be bussed into the terminal.

So, how come you managed both amenity kit and pajamas Not sure if they have a different criteria for F than J.

OK, so you have to ask for it or do they hand it out to you...

On initial Gatwick leg do ask for the mattress on your seat, it is often ignored on day flights but makes the seat much more comfortable, it can be a bit firm or lumpy for some.

In F you can ask for it. I have once asked for an amenity kit for mrs ukdoctor and they gave me one as well. It was on a 777 DXB to LGW.

Sometimes they dont stock it on day flights so its a bit hit and miss. There is no harm in asking the purser. even in J you can ask for the PJ's and slippers .

They asked if I wanted pj s I said yes and got the bag they come in (bit like a shopping bag!) then asked for amenity kit and they gave it to me as I was taken to the shower.

I now have too many bags and a load of flights coming up #firstworldproblems

Ha, all my closest friends and relatives are now fully kitted out with Bvlgari toiletries and a nice bag to match (leather ones for the good ones)!

You won't need a flannel, as there's plenty of those in the toilets! Along with toothbrushes, shavers and 'cologne'.

Hi all, I have similar questions for my EK flight in business seat 7A from Adelaide to Birmingham UK in January next year. What can I expect with food, amenities, PJ's all the usual 1st world worries. Unfortunately I have about 9 hours to get to know Dubai airport on the way over. Get into Dubai at about 5am, will it be busy? I've heard the J lounge is busy and hot with not many showers either...

6 am to 8:30 am is probably when the lounge is its busiest. Should start tapering out after that so you should be good for the majority of your stay...
