Obtaining gold status
 

Hello,

I made my first CDG < -> BKK flight in may 2013 and collected 21000 tier miles
I have to collect 4000 miles before 31.05.2014 to become silver.
In reality, I will have collected more than 50000 miles at this date. 21000 miles in Januari, 10500 in May 2014 (CDG -> BKK) and 10500 in june 2014 (BKK -> CDG).
What will happen in this situation? Will I get gold status in May or will I get an new 12 months period to collect 50000 miles when becoming silver in January ?

When flying with SAS, I became silver during my first BKK -> CPH flight in february and became gold after my second BKK -> CPH in december the same year ;)

You will hit Silver in January. However, as the Skywards tier calculator always looks at the miles accrued in the previous 13 months for the next higher tier qualification, when you accrue the 10,500 in May 2014, you will have met the tier qualification for Gold (21000 + 21000 + 10,500 = 52,500 in the previous 13 months) and the system will upgrade you to Gold. Just go into your skyward account and then press the statement icon. This page contains everything you need to know about your tier status.

But since the last changes it's not always the easiest to interpret, especially for a newbie to the program.
