Do they still exist?

I am trying to organise my next trip to OZ and all the EK quotes are coming up with a combo fare..typically Flex out and Saver back.

I want a Saver return because it is cheaper and I guess there is no rhyme or reason as to why and when these become available. My flights are October out/November back.

My frustration is further exacerbated by my being able to book my flights, the same flight numbers, via Qantas (both internationals on EK metal and the domestics on Qantas) for £450 less than EK and that price includes an extra domestic which is remains unbookable via EK. However, unfortunately, there will be no EK Skywards tier points earned if I go with Qantas.

It is a pity and somewhat daft in the circumstance of the alliance(!) that EK don't price match.

What's your outbound date? Maybe there are no saver seats left
